Note
CS Degree Day 2
Overview
Finished three more chapters along with assignments. After 7 lectures done, it was time for the first exam. I was vehemently nervous as this exam would embelize the feasibility of my challenge. I prepared for it like I would have for any other exam, I was going through the material, solving practice exam paper and daydreaming end of the exam. It went better than I thought. I scored 89/100, I could’ve scored 95/100 if not for silly mistakes. This exam was manifolds easier than what I have come across during my high school tutoring. While in the middle of the exam, I had pangs of self-doubt- “Am I making the best use of my time, what am I doing writing exam of calculus.”.
What I did today?
Finished lecture, notes and assignment of Calculus 18.01:
- Lecture 5: Implicit Differentiation & Inverse function
- Exponential, Logarithms and Euler’s Number
- Hyperbolic functions, Trignometry functions
Wrote practice exam paper and actual exam paper for Exam -1
- Scored 89/100
Interesting things I came across
Mistake in Lecture Notes
Found a mistake on page 34 of Lecture notes calculus 18.01 Set 1
If w = ln(x), then e^x = w is WRONG
If w = ln(x), then e^w = x is RIGHT
I spent several minutes scratching my head, going through lecture, reference material. In the end I concluded that is is a mistake. Let me know if I am wrong.
